This is the Way: Where are We Going?

This past Sunday, we continued our series “This Is the Way” by asking an important question: Where are we going as a church?

Ephesians 4 describes a church in which leaders equip God’s people for ministry, believers grow toward maturity in Christ, and every person contributes to the health and growth of the whole body. The goal is not simply to gather people for worship but to help people continually take their next steps toward becoming mature disciples who make disciples.

A discipleship path gives us a simple and intentional way to pursue that goal. Because discipleship does not happen accidentally, we need relational environments that help people move from connection to spiritual formation and then into everyday mission.

At Way of Christ, we describe that journey with three words:

BELONG — Share life with Jesus.
Through open LIFEgroups, people build meaningful relationships, encourage one another, and learn to walk together in everyday life.

BECOME — Become like Jesus.
Through smaller, closed Discipleship Groups, believers go deeper in Scripture, prayer, accountability, obedience, and preparation to help others follow Jesus.

BLESS — Live on mission with Jesus.
Through Kingdom Circles, we prayerfully invest in the neighbors, coworkers, friends, and family members God has already placed around us. As spiritual curiosity develops, we can invite people into Discovery Groups to explore Jesus through Scripture together.

The central idea behind the entire pathway is simple: relationship is the vehicle for disciple-making. Programs and gatherings can provide direction, but transformation happens as people share life, practice the way of Jesus together, and help one another join His mission.

This is where we are going: becoming a church in which everyone is equipped to take a next step—and to help someone else take theirs. We will belong, become, and bless as we love God, love people, and make disciples.
