Welcome to The Way!
The earliest followers of Jesus were known simply as “the Way.” That name captures something essential: faith in Jesus was never meant to be a weekly event or a religious label — it was a lived path. At our church, our gatherings are not built around performance or passive attendance, but around formation. We come together to learn the way of Jesus and to become the kind of people who embody His teachings in everyday life.
What to Expect
Our Sunday worship gatherings are intended to be deeply relational experiences where we connect with each other and encounter God. Our gatherings are intentionally planned with variety of formats each week while remaining flexible for the movement of the Spirit.
Our gatherings are warm, relaxed, and intentionally unpolished. We’re not aiming to impress anyone — we’re creating space for people to exhale. From the way we dress to the way we speak, everything is meant to feel approachable and welcoming. We want you to feel less like a guest at an event and more like family around a table.
What to Wear
The Power of Many Voices
Our worship is led by a praise team and features contemporary worship songs, spiritual songs, and occasionally some classic hymns in a simple voices-only style to encourage everyone to participate. Our goal is not performance but participation—creating a space where the whole church can lift their voices together in worship.
Communion and sharing around the table are central to our gatherings. Following the pattern of the earliest Christians, we take time to slow down, break bread together, and remember Christ in a way that emphasizes our unity as one body. The table reminds us that church is not an audience watching a stage, but a community meeting Christ together.
Table Time
Our preaching is primarily expository, meaning we take time to study a passage of Scripture deeply rather than jumping around to many different texts. Occasionally we teach through themes, but these are always rooted in a specific biblical passage and explored over several weeks.
Scripture-Based Teaching
Honest faith, real community, simple church, and everyday discipleship.
Faith isn’t a program—it’s a way of life.
What Makes The Way Unique?
The Way of Christ is not just a Sunday event. It’s also not lifeless, rule-based religion. Neither is it a shallow, consumer-driven experience that’s a mile wide and an inch deep. True spirituality isn’t about self-righteousness or chasing the latest spiritual fad. It’s about becoming disciples of Jesus who take relationships seriously. The Way of Christ is a place where life is lived together—sharing meals, stories, and faith—growing in Jesus through real relationships, Scripture, and the Spirit.
The Way of Christ Columbia is a Christ-centered community committed to helping people not just believe in Jesus, but actually follow Him in everyday life. Rooted in Scripture and shaped by a vision of spiritual formation, the church exists to make disciples who learn to live in the way of Jesus—being with Him, becoming like Him, and doing what He did. With a strong emphasis on transformation over mere attendance, The Way of Christ Columbia seeks to cultivate a culture where grace leads to growth, truth is lived out in love, and every person is equipped to participate in God’s mission by making disciples who make disciples.
