Discovery Bible Study

Walking with others learning to trust and follow Jesus more deeply within safe relationships.

How it works:

Gather weekly with a gender specific group of 3-5 people for 90 mintues.

Create a safe, simple, and confidential environment for spiritual growth.

Commit to intentionally walk with one another to trust and follow Jesus.

Choose a biblical passage or a book and work it through four steps each week.

Have a goal to find others and reproduce the group.

  1. CONNECT: Begin with life before Scripture. Build trust and open your hearts.

  • Gratitude: What went well in your life this week?

  • Challenge: What’s been difficult or draining lately?

  • Follow-Up: How did you notice God at work or respond to last week’s conversation?

2. DISCOVER: Encounter the Word together.

Read the passage slowly, then in another translation. Retell it in your own words (or summarize as a group).

  • See the Bible: What stands out or surprises you?

  • See God: What do we learn about God—his character, heart, or ways?

  • See People: What do we learn about ourselves or human nature?

3. NAME IT: Let Scripture meet real life.

  • Life: Where do you see this truth showing up in your world or relationships?

  • Comfort: What encourages or affirms you here?

  • Conviction: What challenges or unsettles you?

4. APPLY IT: Move toward transformation and obedience.

  • Become: What kind of person does this passage call us to become?

  • Try: What is one small, specific way you could live this out this week?

  • Prayer: Close by praying for one another’s next steps.

Core Rhythms of a Group:

Confidentiality: What’s shared here stays here.

Participation: Everyone contributes.

Consistency: Show up weekly; growth comes through rhythm.

Reproduction: As you grow, consider who you could invite to begin another group.
