Our Story
A Calling That Grew Over Time
After more than twenty years in ministry, God brought into focus a calling that had been quietly growing in our hearts for many years—the desire to plant a church. We dreamed about starting a church from the ground up with a disciple-making DNA from day one. A church deeply rooted in Scripture, centered on Jesus, and intentionally welcoming people who may feel disconnected from traditional church structures. A church where authentic community, spiritual formation, and mission are built into the culture from the very beginning.
A Vision Begins to Form
Beginning in 2016 we began attending the New Day Conference hosted by North Boulevard Church of Christ. The conference highlighted a vision for spiritual renewal, church planting, and disciple-making, and it deeply resonated with us.
Over the next several years—while continuing ministry in East Tennessee—we kept returning to the conference. In 2020 we moved to Nashville, and during that season the idea of church planting continued to take shape.
A Strategic Place
In 2023 we moved back to Columbia in Maury County. As we settled into the community, we quickly noticed the incredible growth taking place throughout the county. Thousands of people are moving into this area, many searching for connection, community, and spiritual direction.
That same year we attended the New Day Conference again and participated in a church planting breakout session where we met experienced church planter Glenn Robb. That conversation became a pivotal moment. Glenn encouraged us to pursue church planting and shared that North Boulevard had already identified Maury County as a potential location for a future church plant because of its rapid growth and strategic opportunity to reach new residents.
God Builds the Team
From the beginning we made an intentional decision: we would not overtly recruit members from other local churches. We deeply respect the work of existing congregations and wanted to guard the unity of the body of Christ in our community. Instead, we simply prayed that God would bring the right people at the right time. We began praying that God would send others who shared this same calling.
God began answering our prayers by sending us others who shared a passion for disciple-making and church planting. We started meeting regularly to pray, dream, and plan what it might look like to start a new church in Maury County.
A Church Sent
As the vision developed, the church planting team at North Boulevard Church of Christ became excited about partnering with us. We were invited to share the vision with their elders, who responded with tremendous encouragement. In a meaningful moment of affirmation, the elders laid hands on us, prayed over us, and commissioned us for this work. They also agreed to serve as our partnering church, providing oversight, support, and guidance as this new church begins.
Stepping Forward in Faith
Today we are stepping forward in faith to plant a new church in Maury County. Our hope is to reach the many people moving into this community and those who may feel disconnected from existing churches—helping people discover Jesus, grow as disciples, and experience authentic Christian community.
We are grateful for the many people who have encouraged and supported us along the way, and we are excited to see what God will do in the years ahead.
